...I am having a friend of mine come (the lady that helps me with my retreats here, and a lady she is bringing with her who was an ex-prisoner). Myself and 14 ladies have been ministering in Granada at the prison called “La Granja”. We just finished our fourth month (once a month). We spend 2-3 hours with the ladies of this prison (33-36 usually in attendance) in Bible studies, music and some Bible based dynamics. We are studying “spiritual warfare”. I am really excited about Sept. 6th. The lady that is coming served time in a maximum security unit in OKC and has a dynamic testimony about how Jesus changed her life. We have provided Bibles and study books for the ladies and after 4 months are seeing some results. The women are memorizing scripture and feel more comfortable with us having gotten to know us better. Each month we try and meet one of their needs. The first month we bought some large peroles (pans) they use to cook with, plus donated our 30 cup coffee maker. The next month we bought a large plastic barrel to hold water—theirs were all rusted out (they live in a very large pavilion). We have provided bags which contain things for their hygienic needs and also have provided snacks and drinks (including having fixed lunch for them on one occasion). Please be in prayer for this ministry. The ladies I am taking with me to minister there are pastor’s wives and leaders in some of our churches. I am trying to train them to “think outside the box” or in other words, think about ministering outside the “walls of the church” and reaching out to other women (which was the theme of our ladies retreats this year).
