Cut to a size that glorifies!
Lord be glorified!

When our original scheduled trip in July was canceled due to the political unrest, I could only wonder why? I could not understand the reason because I knew how God had worked to bring this team together. I kept saying, "God is bigger than Honduran politics! Surely He will allow us to go." I know every team captain can attest to that fact. Teams do not come together by coincidence. There was such a great spirit and enthusiasm among the members as well as being financially set for the expenses for this year - a miracle in itself! A team member even commented to me, that maybe we had become “to comfortable” going to Honduras and maybe we should go somewhere else. However, our team decided to go and make the trip in September.
The first thing that came to my mind during all the confusion in July was the Bible story in Judges 7 when God cuts Gideon’s army down to size. “The Lord said to Gideon, ‘You have too many people for Me to hand the Midianites over to you, or else Israel might brag: I did it myself.’” (Judges 7:2)  From our original team of 30 scheduled to go to Lepaterique, only 19 could reschedule. During this time of restructuring, we lost our children’s church team, our dentist, the extra kitchen help, extra hands in the give away area, and most of our high school and college students who were going to work in medical, pharmacy and dental. Our “extra hands” were gone! Those team members who could not go were so disappointed!
When we arrived in September, we were still assigned to the same village. We had no idea what we were about to encounter. As we were rounding the mountainous curve and the village of Lepaterique came into view in the valley below, my husband, who is the team captain, said, “Oh my Lord! Look at the size of that village!”
To make a long story short, God performed a miracle that week!  God provided 7 medical stations. When preachers were not preaching, they were helping in children’s church and in pharmacy!  The two workers pulling kitchen duty were also directing children’s church! At times, help was pulled from the pharmacy and eye glass clinic to help in children’s church, and most everyone volunteered to helped in some way in the kitchen! The ladies in the give away area “gave away the store” with very little left for the last day! We were completely “out of our comfort zone”!
There were a total of 2,681 patients (over 1,000 in one day), 14,102 prescriptions filled, 542 extractions, 367 eye glasses fitted, and an average of 300 in children’s church. But the greatest numbers of all are the 161 professions of faith!
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”  "Revelation 3:8 KJV
