The year thus far has brought with it a roller-coaster of emotions at the Thomas Herrington Bible Institute. February and March brought great excitement and anticipation as 19 students enrolled in the full-time study program. The excellent teaching of Brandon Porter and Bill Starr in February and the enthusiastic teaching of Mel Cornillaud and Jose Hernandez had all of us really eager to see what God was going to do the rest of the year. All of us, teachers, students, and pastors, were very excited about the ministry.

But then came April with her storm and destruction. This was indeed a time shock, disbelief, and grief as we viewed the damage to the kitchen and dining hall and the complete destruction of the chapel. But even in a storm as grave as this one, there is a rainbow, a blessing. The blessing is this; we have been reminded that the things of this world are temporary and that they can be lost in a moment. So, we realize that the grace of Jesus that we are offering to the people of Honduras is eternal and can never be lost, even in the worst of life’s storms. April Storm Damage

Then came May. And all of us, faculty, students, and me, were once again encouraged and strengthened by the teaching and fellowship of Lynn Hyatt and Gus Giral as they taught the second class of our Systematic Theology Class. Lynn is the pastor of First Baptist Church of Callahan, FL and Gus is a member and friend. There are 39 pastors enrolled in this program and we really do appreciate those pastors who come from the United States to teach this course.

I want to thank all of you that have contributed so generously to the construction of our new chapel. We estimate that the cost will be about $100,000 and through your generous offerings we have received about $40,000. We hope to begin construction this year but we must have 80% of our projected cost ($80,000) before we can begin. Funds Raised
