San Juan, Honduras - Omar Barquero

Hello Brother and Sisters.

   First I want to start by giving thanks to God for being so faithful to me here in San Juan, Honduras. I have been here for almost three months now, and I have not lacked anything; the churches and I have been able to accomplish the goal that we had since the moment I came here.
   I want to mention that I have enjoyed working with René and Brooke Pizzati, and Herbasio y Noemi who are working in this area with BMDMI too. They are my second family in the Lord and very good friends in this region of Intibucá and Lempira.
   I am working with three churches in this area, EMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH in San Miguelito, RIOS DE AGUA VIVA in San Francisco, and SAN JUAN BAPTIST CHURCH. I want to mention some of the ministry successes that God has made possible here in this area.
   From the church in San Miguelito and San Francisco almost 7 people got baptized in the river there in a ceremony that was celebrated in Dolores about a month a go. Also René and Brooke are supplying the materials to start a Sunday school class for adults in SAN MIGUELITO,SAN JUAN, SAN FRANCISCO! We are planning to have the same curriculum for these three churches, so they can go on at the same time.
   I want to mention, that thanks to BMDMI, the pastor from San Miguelito and San Francisco now have a THOMPSON BIBLE to help with their study of the Bible.
   In the church of San Miguelito, the people raised money to put electricity in the building; it was not cheap but with God guidances and the members’ efforts now they can have services at night; several people have joined the church because of this.
   In San Juan we have a group of about 13 adults and 25 children. The Sunday school teacher from San Miguelito comes every Saturday to teach the children and she is training two girls from San Juan so they can take on this responsibility. I want to thank the Pizzati family because they have been very supportive with the children’s ministry in these three churches providing the materials and training the teachers.
   We also had a visit from one of our pastors from a place call La Union of San Miguelito (Danlí), and a visit from two of our pastors and leaders from the association of churches. It was a good time!
   I have a motorcycle now, and it’s going to make things easier for me, because transportation is a little hard in this area. I want to thank the people who made this possible; I know God will reward you for that.
   Please pray for this ministry here, and the country of Honduras. “Thanks so much” to all the people who believed that God could use me here. Thank you, brother Dwight for the opportunity, thank you Mike and Marty for encouraging me. Thank you brother Bruce for teaching me how to obey when God is calling, and thanks to all those people that support me in prayers and through your friendship.
