Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International exists under the Lordship of Jesus Christ to evangelize the lost, to disciple the saved, and to minister to the needs of the poor. They came in buses, they came in trucks, and many walked but more than 800 people came to the campus of the Thomas Herrington Bible Institute in Las Crucitas to participate in the celebration of the graduation of 16 students. The Bible Institute graduation is the biggest day in the lives of the churches of Honduras. Some of the church members traveled more than 6 hours to attend the celebration. Each year the Bible Institute recognizes someone who has been a special blessing and support to the Bible Institute programs. This year the honoree was missionary, Marina Calderon in recognition of all the support she provides for the churches and pastors of Honduras. The “Carolyn Herrington Award” was presented to a pastoral student who excelled in academics, leadership and personal spiritual life. This year’s recipient is Carlos de Jesus Velasquez, who will receive a stipend of $100 per month for twelve months. First years students in full-time program. Second year students in full-time program. Juan Luis Lagos, pastor and president of the Honduras Association of Churches, MBMDI.
