NICARAGUA
During the past few months, we have felt God’s leading to reach out to young mothers and mothers-to-be in our community of Diriamba, Nicaragua. On February 24th, the new school project began and more young ladies began to arrive at our facilities, but this time for an education.
At this time we are only giving classes for the primary grades (1st to 6th) to young ladies between 13 and 25 years-old. These young ladies, for various reasons, have abandoned their studies. Some for lack of parental support, while others had to leave classes because of pregnancy and the need to take care of their children.
Our goal is to help these young ladies improve their opportunities to care for their children and themselves by helping finish their education and receive vocational training at the same time. Each young lady is receiving sewing, beauty, and baking classes as well as classes in art and crafts.
Each young lady will also be receiving spiritual instruction, instruction in how to care for their pregnancy, themselves and their babies, and instruction in how to live a responsible life. We are praying specifically that each one would come to know Christ as personal Savior and Lord and thus, start a transformed life.
